Are you a blogger looking to monetize your blog? I want to share a blogging opportunity that I have just recently discovered through an essential oils company called Young Living. Unlike many other ways to monetize your blog, this program isn’t reliant on traffic. This means that if Facebook changes it’s algorithms, yet again, and your page views plummet, you’ll still have income coming in through Young Living!
Young living is more of an affiliate type of program and it works really well for bloggers and websites. It can be beneficial to your blog whether you already use essential oils, or have never even considered them before. I’m finding that weaving the oils into my posts is effortless, and it’s not forced or spammy sounding. I’m simply writing posts like I normally would and then linking the oils I list in the post. You can see examples here, here, and here of how I have started blogging about ideas that involve the use of essential oils.
As you can see, there is nothing pushy about offering the oils through blogging – it really is quite the opposite! And the content that can be generated on the subject seems unlimited
We were already essential oil users in my household, so having an opportunity to work with this reputable company to bring in a little money to help offset the cost of running the blog really excited me. You truly can make a decent amount of money in a very short amount of time!
If you’re like me, anything that smells like network marketing makes you want to run! I never want to be “that person” who invites you over for dinner only to bring out a power point presentation on my latest “get rich” scheme.
No thank you.
That’s what I love about this! I don’t have to awkwardly sell to my friends and family! In fact, I can refuse to sell to them if I want and I’ll still have income coming in!
As bloggers, we have the advantage of virtually “meeting” hundreds, thousands, or even millions of people online that we would never meet in person. Therefor, there’s no need for us to go selling door to door or have living room parties! We can simply offer the products in a non-obtrusive way for those who are interested! It then becomes essentially a “lifetime cookie” for orders. Any time there is a a new order, I will get a percentage of the sale as the referring person. Over time, I continue to build members and it continues to grow. The only catch is that in order to get all of the commissions, I have to maintain a certain amount in my personal orders per month. However, you can put this off until you have enough people ordering under you that it offsets your personal order amount.
Another awesome thing is that it becomes a team approach. The girl that I signed up underneath had extra sign-ups and ended up sharing the love by putting those sign-ups under me! Now she continues to benefit, and I benefit as well. This “stacking” is a practice in our Young Living blogging team because it truly benefits us all!
I love the community I have found in my Young Living Facebook groups I was added to when I joined – we all help each other in so many ways. There is so much support and education, especially for bloggers! Since I joined an established team, anyone who joins me becomes part of that established team too.
Here is a video from Holly Homer with the how and the whys of what this is all about – I am so grateful to have Holly as a leader in this organization!

It is not my goal to talk anyone into this. Please check out Young Living as a company and its reputation. Think about how essential oil content would fit into your blog organically. It really is just an extension of what we are already writing. Of course, now I have endless ideas!
